The significance

Andy Connor at NZ Parliaments Field of Crosses 140804 IMG 6805100 years have passed since the onset of Britain’s declaration of war on Germany on the 4th of August 1914 in what was to become known as World War One.  Today a kiwi might be justified in asking why we ever got involved back then – but to me that’s a question that lacks context – and I am quite sure if you asked anyone of that time they would consider it the right thing to do, that the honour was theirs.
